Congratulations to these Deerfield 5th grade students who achieved the President's Award for Educational Excellence.
In order to meet the criteria for this award, these students earned a grade average of 90% or better in both semesters of 4th grade and the first semester of 5th grade. Additionally, they performed above proficiency on either 4th grade ILEARN Math or ELA. Students, well done! This is quite an accomplishment. You can watch for your certificate and pin in the mail.
The Deerfield Food Pantry will take place as scheduled today from 3:30 to 5:00 (or until food runs out). Instead of entering the school, you'll simply drive up to the Second Harvest van parked in front of the school. You'll get a free bag of groceries and be on your way! We hope our Deerfield families will take advantage of this opportunity to get some free groceries close to home.
If your family has a child in 5th grade who will be going to Driver Middle School next year for 6th grade, check out this video! Our friends at Driver have put this together for you since we didn’t get to have Buddy Day. You’ll find this and more information in your 5th grade child’s email. Look for messages from the school counselor, Sadie Wright. Also, remember to respond to the message about choosing your music class. Thank you to our friends at Driver for putting this together and helping us be ready for 6th grade!
IMPORTANT REMINDER for 5th grade students and parents.
If you have not chosen your music class for next year yet, you need to do so by this Friday, May 15.
